More Information

With a distinctive facade featuring a curved glass wall, angled sections of brick and a dramatically projecting roof, 161 Osborne Street represents an amalgam of two modern design trends: the International Style and the "Googie" approach. The latter of these, which developed fully in Southern California, involves a look imbued with the energy of car and jet design and the Space Age. Period advertising for this building identify it as "embodying the latest trend in design for shopping comfort."
