More Information

École Robert Browning, opened in 1963 as Robert Browning School, is a twin design to Crestview School, also an elementary school in the St. James-Assiniboia School Division.

Design Characteristics

Suburb:Westwood
  • The school expresses its steel and concrete frame frankly in a thoroughly modern design that is uncluttered without being stark; with a facing of red brick and trim painted a forest green, this attractive school is two storeys high in a slim rectangular shape with a gym auditorium block centred at the rear
  • It has great integrity to its period, features being retained such as the original windows and the main entrance indented and ornamented with a wall of multi-coloured mosaic tile; large evergreens and foundation planting soften this entrance and pull the eye to the visual focal point of the design
